Years ago the Judicators gained an interest in the Reavia'et Hive of WoRs. The way they shared
a neural network was intriguing because it opened so many doors of possibility. Originally the
Judicators had meant only to study the symbiotic parasites that had joined with the Whispers. To
see and understand what made the organism work, and how it had fused so seamlessly with
the minds of those it lived within. Nothing like it existed in any of the known Dimensions, and the
Judicators learned a lot from their study.
Wanting to take advantage of the Hive Mind, the Judicators set out to find a way to use it. They
offered to improve the symbiotes for the Reavia'et Hive WoRs - and gained unlimited access to
the parasites.
They did what they promised. They improved the Reavia'et symbiotes so they could be passed
on through blood, and were no longer restricted to only being passed on by Mothers. This left the
Reavia'et Hive able to further grow itself, because it no longer relied solely on the female Hive
members to keep the network growing.
The Judicators said this was all they could do, and they stopped the study of the Reavia'et Hive.
Any further experiments were said to have been failures.
These were lies.

With the eyes of the Reavia'et Hive no longer involved with the Judicators, they were free
to further their research in private. Setting out to duplicate the Reavia'et symbiotes, the
Judicators used blood magic and synthetic materials to create their own symbiotes.
Many of these were failed experiments, with the Hive Mind potential not working
adequately in the symbiotes - or turning the symbiotes into completely mindless
drones.
After many years of dedicated experimentation the Judicators eventually succeeded in
their project. They created a synthetic symbiote that successfully duplicated the Hive
Mind they'd seen in the Reavia'et WoRs.
What's more, the synthetic symbiotes were able to tap into the Reavia'et Hive Mind
without the Reavia'et Hive WoRs being aware of it. Suddenly, the Judicators not only
had a working Hive Mind of their own, but they also had access to the ancient
knowledge the Reavia'et Hive held.
The Judicators maintain control over their first successful synthetic symbiote - The Blue
Queen - and actively learn from the knowledge she gains from her Hive. The other
synthetic symbiotes born from her were joined with infant Raveen Kats - individuals that
were orphaned, and wouldn't be missed by families if the experiment failed.
Each symbiote is connected to the Blue Queen, and to each other. They share a neural
network of a Hive Mind, but it isn't all-consuming like it is with the Reavia'et Hive WoRs.
Individuality exists in the Blue Hive, and is greatly encouraged. The Hive Mind works like
a family of minds working together to better themselves and others.
In the Reavia'et Hive all thoughts and memories are shared in the link - to the point
where the Judicators saw that individual personalities didn't matter in the Reavia'et
Hive, and it was something more of a mob mentality. Everything was done for the good
of the Hive, and the goal of growing the Reavia'et Hive.
This was a worrying trait that the Judicators didn't want to duplicate. They specifically
designed their own synthetic symbiote to function in a way that would promote
knowledge gathering, but not at the price of the individual mind. They designed the Blue
Queen to be a calming presence that exuded that calmness to those in her Hive - so
that the Hive Mind could exist without becoming destructive to itself, or others.
One of the main differences with the Blue Hive is that they can choose to share their
thoughts or memories. They're not required to share intimate details of themselves with
the Hive Mind, and instead use the Hive Mind as a place to share knowledge that would
be useful to others. This has caused to the Blue Hive to run like a neural library.
The Blue Hive is able to tap into the Reavia'et Hive Mind without being noticed - which
allows for them to learn from the other Hive without falling to its primal function.
Exactly as the Judicators intended.
The Blue Queen lives in the Teczra District - the technologically advanced territory of the Judicators. She
lives deep in their protected walls, in a tank large enough to provide her with a comfortable home. She's
content to live there, seeing the Judicators as gentle protectors seeking to learn from her and her Hive.
While she is aware of the dark persona the others see in the Judicators, she has no reason to doubt
them. No reason to fear anything from them. She was created by the Judicators to be a living library of
information, and seeks to fulfill this purpose.
She exists in the Blue Hive Mind as a gentle Motherly presence. A calming light that guides the Hive
Mind, and keeps it from turning into a violent or destructive network.
Curiously, even dark and supposedly evil-aligned Elements that have been joined with her Hive have
had their personalities evolve with kindness. A traditionally destructive Element was turned into a
level-headed entity that sought true friendships instead of alliances. An unintended side-effect, but one
the Judicators (and the Blue Queen) were delighted by.
The running purpose of the Blue Hive Mind is to learn. To experience, and to grow. It doesn't seek to
rapidly grow it's own Hive Mind, but rather to improve the quality of the information it collects and stores.
It wants to know about the world, and those in it.
Those of the Blue Hive generally have a scholarly drive to understand the world around them. An interest
to look into mysteries and what makes them mysterious. To learn, to study, and to train in all ways they
can.
But they hold onto their individuality. One member of the Blue Hive might be greatly interested in
learning something, while another member is only mildly interested in those same things.
This leads to interesting experiences where the Hive Mind can learn from an array of different fields,
without feeling any kind of disconnect from the members of the Hive Mind.
Members of the Blue Hive are able to freely access the shared knowledge of others in their Hive. This
means if one of them learns something interesting, and shares it with the Hive Mind, they all learn it.
Potentially this means that if any of the members of the Blue Hive train in a Slayer Class, they'll all be
trained in that Class. No one has actively engaged in Slayer Training yet, but the interest has been
rising. The Judicators and Blue Queen are both equally curious about how the sharing of a memory of
being trained is translated through the Hive Mind. Do the others in the Hive become just as well-trained
as the one to undertake the training, or do they only learn the knowledge (and not the use) of it?
The Synthetic Symbiotes are a part of the Raveen Kats they're joined with. The bodies of Synthetic
Symbiotes cannot be harmed, as they're invulnerable to harm. The symbiotes do not have a separate
mind of their own - they are connected to the Raveen Kat's minds, and are technically "one in the same"
with them once they're joined. (They cannot be removed from the Kats they're joined with. Not that any of
them would want to try to remove them, anyway. The Hive Mind isn't a negative experience for them.)
They can always telepathically speak to others in the Blue Hive, no matter how far apart they are.
They cannot speak telepathically to the Reavia'et Hive, though they can sometimes overhear the
thoughts of that Hive if they choose to. Most of them avoid it, however, as the Reavia'et Hive has a very
dark presence to its Hive Mind that feels like wading through oil-slicked water.
The Reavia'et Hive cannot connect to the Blue Hive. As far as the Reavia'et Hive can tell, only its own
Hive members have access to its knowledge. They are unaware of the Blue Hive - and the Blue Hive
has no interest in revealing itself to them. (If a Blue Hive member is near a Reavia'et WoR, they'll likely
explain away their synthetic symbiote as a type of Dimensional Mutation.)
Pairing up with a Reavia'et Hive member is undesirable. The Blue Hive sees the Reavia'et Hive as
primal and dangerous, and wouldn't want to risk their own young being actively connected to the
Reavia'et Hive against their will.
The Blue Hive doesn't seek to expand its Hive Mind at the cost of individual happiness. Because of this,
Blue Hive Kats will only seek to pair up like regular Raveen Kats and would not be interested in flings.
The synthetic symbiote will be passed on through blood. Any offspring they have will also share a link to
the Blue Hive Mind.

Q: Is the Blue Hive a rival of the Reavia'et Hive?
A: The Reavia'et Hive is unaware of their existence. Thus, they hold no animosity towards the Blue Hive.
For the Blue Hive, they don't view the Reavia'et WoRs as rivals - rather, just as individuals that are
connected to a primal Hive Mind. They do not have an antagonistic relationship with each other.
Q: Is the Blue Hive Mind a controlling presence in their lives?
A: No. It's a passive presence in their lives, one which connects them all, but doesn't dictate what they can
do in life.
Q: Can a Blue Hive member be evil, and seek to kill/injure others - including those of the Hive?
A: No. Those with a Blue Hive symbiote will be peaceful, no matter what their Element leanings might be.
They won't ever want to bring harm to others of the Hive, and likely wouldn't want to harm those outside of
it unless provoked. They'll protect others, but are unlikely to be conflict starters.
Q: Are they always connected to the Hive Mind?
A: Yes, but they can control how much of their thoughts/memories pass through that link.
Q: Can they disconnect from the Hive Mind?
A: No, it's a permanent connection.
Q: If I pair my Blue Hive Kat with a Reavia'et Hive Kat, which symbiote will it inherit?
A: Such a pairing should never happen. Blue Hive views the Reavia'et Hive as primal, and wouldn't be
willing to join with it permanently. The young of such a pairing are almost guaranteed to inherit a Reavia'et
symbiote, and not a synthetic one, so it's not a good idea. (Please don't go for this.)
Q: Can I make my Blue Hive Kat be my Open for Flings RK?
A: Please don't. The Blue Hive Kats are likely only going to be open to taking on one singular mate like
regular Raveen Kats. They're not like the Reavia'et Hive - they're not driven to increase the power/size of
their Hive Mind. Being open for flings works against the marked difference between being in these
separate Hives represents.
Q: Are they Judicators?
A: No.
Q: Can they be Judicators?
A: No. They're an active experiment, and not the "scientists".
Q: Can they visit the Blue Queen in the Judicator's territory?
A: Yes, but each visit will be supervised to make sure the Kat doesn't wander off into off-limit areas of the
Teczra District.
Q: Do they know they're an experiment?
A: Yes, but it's not a chilling or fearful thing to be aware of. It's something they know, but not something that
is a danger to them.
Q: What if they don't want to be part of the Hive Mind, and have no interest in sharing their knowledge
with the others of the Hive?
A: Why wouldn't they want to be part of something that gives them a permanent connection to others, and
promises never being lonely? The Blue Hive isn't an evil thing. They won't view it in a negative light. They
can choose not to share their knowledge, and they won't be punished for it. They are welcome to their
individuality.
Q: What if one of them does become violent?
A: In the unlikely scenario of this happening, the individual will likely be removed from the Hive. It'll be
viewed as a danger to the Blue Hive Mind, and be scrubbed. (Yes, that does mean killed. No, that's never
happened before, and is unlikely to ever occur.)
Q: They share thoughts and memories, can they also share their dreams?
A: Yes. In fact, dream-sharing among the Hive Mind is common and tends to happen a lot subconsciously
when the Hive members are sleeping. With their connection to the Hive Mind, they'll be aware that they're
dreaming. Shared dreams can be altered, and shared nightmares can be calmed, by the presence of
other Hive members. Dream-Walkers are easily identified as outsiders, and often pushed out of the
shared dream because the Hive Mind's dreamscape is protected by the Blue Queen.
Q: Can a Blue Hive Kat be made to attack others, through outside manipulations/control?
A: They're immune to psychic control, morality tampering, and hypnosis. So, no.
Q: Is the Blue Queen bonded to a Kat?
A: No. She is a large synthetic symbiote that is not bonded to any living thing. Since she fully matured
without being connected to any living thing, the Judicators aren't sure she's able to bond to anything now.
The Synthetic Symbiotes need to bond young, otherwise they run the risk of overwhelming the brain of
their bonded.
Q: What were their cubhoods like? Are they all the same age?
A: They grew up in the Teczra District, being monitored by the Judicators working on their experiment. They
were closely watched to make sure they didn't have any negative reactions to the synthetic symbiotes, and
once they reached late teenhood/early adulthood they were allowed to leave and explore the world at
large. The cubs were all gathered at different times - basically whenever the Judicators became aware of
an orphaned cub, they swept in and claimed it.
This means the cubs were not the same age, but were close enough in age to have shared some
cubhood memories together. None of the cubs were already adults when the youngest of them was
bonded. (At least, for the "first gen". Any Blue Hive Kats beyond the first nine are all "second gen", and
would have been bonded to their symbiotes after the first group reached adulthood.)
Q: Would they uniformly always have a "good impression" of the Judicators through the Queen's
influence, or could they be swayed as individuals by outside knowledge of them?
A: They've had nothing but positive interactions with Judicators. The group that worked with them
especially was always kind, and dedicated to making sure they were happy/well taken care of. It's unlikely
the experiences of others would sway them to view the Judicators in a negative manner, as their own (and
shared memories) are positive.
Q: And since the Judicators are a varied bunch, is there any chance of them being poorly treated by
those not related to their experiment? Or do all of the Judicators "play nice"?
A: The Blue Hive is an active experiment. All Judicators must "play nice" with them, otherwise they'll face
punishment from their higher-ups. The Blue Hive is one experiment that all Judicators can eventually gain
something from, so it's in their best interest not to interfere with it.
Q: Can I use a Blue Hive Kat in an Eclipse draw?
A: The Blue Hive is well aware of the risk of having young around the Eclipse. They will actively avoid
having offspring around that time.
