The Defensive Class is one of the hardest Slayer Classes to master. Unlike the Offensive Class, those of the Defensive Class do not gain an arsenal of powerful magics, rather they gain the power to leech and channel powers off of others. This gives them a seemingly endless bucket to choose powers from, but they're limited by the company they keep -- which is why a Defensive Class Slayer is usually coupled with an Offensive or Tactics Class Slayer at first.

As Channeling Powers is quite dangerous, the first step in training for this rank is learning how not to be taken over by the essence of the powers being used. Since they're being "burrowed" from another these powers carry the life energies of their original users, and sometimes that energy is so powerful it can render the "leech" a mindless puppet in moments. Those of this ranking should then be of a powerful bloodtype,  or stubborn enough to train hard.

Defensive Class Slayers are experts of magical seals and blood curses, and for that reason many of this ranking can be found with their own unique way of holding on to a particular power they liked. Many, you will find, carry Blood Seals in scrolls or attached to weaponry that when activated will unleash the power the blood donnor had.

With their Seal expertise, they also have their own unique Magic Set that allows for them to create anti-curses against powers and to create defensive shields. Since they can't always rely on the magics of others, these Slayers are sometimes forced to fall back on these purely defensive moves to keep their Guilds alive.

It is the duty of the Defensive Class Slayer to insure a Guild is protected at all times from attack. For this reason, it's imperative that Slayers master the Magical Seals and Magic Channeling gifted to them.
